SHUN LI AND THE POET RECEIVES SPECIAL MENTION AT UMBRIA FILM FESTIVAL – PEOPLES AND RELIGIONS
Terni, November 28th 2011 – The jury of the Umbrian event, whose member this year were director Liliana Cavani (President), producer Renzo Rossellini, jounalist and film critic Debora Young (Hollywood Reporter, art director of Taormina Film Festival) and director Guido Chiesa, decreed two special mentions for this edition. They went respectively to “Li and the Poet” and “Sur la planche” by director Leila Kilani (France, Morocco, Germany, 2011). “To a poetic film, an inspiring portrait of characters belonging to a hidden world”, this was the opinion expressed by the jury on Segre’s award-winning work.
SHUN LI AND THE POET WINS THE EURIMAGES AWARD 2011 AT SEVILLE EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL
Seville, November 11th 2011 – During the closing ceremony of the Festival yesterday evening, the Eurimages Prize Jury decided unanimously to award Segre’s work, with the following reason. “For having approached a very present-days, familiar to everybody and concrete subject (that of the integration of inmigrants), with sensibility and simplicity (but without lacking quality and complexity at all), using succesfully all the expressive potential of the cinematographic medium…” The amount of the prize will finance the distribution of the movie in Spain.
The film has been presented by the director Andrea Segre at Seville European film festival. More than 300 people participated to the screening in one of the major theatres of the Spanish city. Soon the winner of the Prix Eurimages Contest will be announced…expectations for the movie are rising.
